Introduction

Abbasia Campus Library is situated in the core of the city near the General Post office & Sadiq Egerton College Bahawalpur. The total area of the library is 2720 sq. feet. It has 693 members comprising faculty members, students, and other researchers of the Islamia University. It is a depository library for the judicial system of Pakistan. The library has 20000 reading materials which include 18500 national and international book collections with 500 oriental language books respectively are available and the number is increasing. In addition, this library also receives many periodicals and research journals.

An Internet lab, having 4 computers at present and liable to be extended up to the 6, is functioning since October 01, 2020.  Also, a reference section, having syndicate, senate proceeding, the encyclopedia, the dictionary is also available in the reference section.  Online public access catalog (OPACs) terminals are available for searching. Readers are supposed to consult the computerized catalog for up-to-date information instead of the manual, catalog, where OPAC terminals have been provided multilingual searching capabilities.

In Sha Allah Library will prepare selected reading material in PDF format for the betterment of students. The library will start online circulation, which includes digital accounts, Machine Readable User Cards, automatic fine generating facility, automatic notices of due dates, communication through email, and WhatsApp as soon as possible. Also, an advanced security system will be installed on our top priority.
